Using iPod as a restaurant programming technique

The Philadelphia City Paper has an article about a local Philly DJ who uses iPods as a distribution mechanism for programmed music in eating establishments, stores, and the like.

The benefits are small size, big capacity, and ease of programming as well as the LCD display that the current tune.

Since the establishments already have radio agreements with ASCAP, the music licensing issue is taken care of for him, and all that is necessary is that he provide the programmed 'pod's.

The DJ who is doing this takes it quite seriously and as part of his service goes to the establishment to figure out what kind of music he needs to set just the right mood.
