Pearl Jam announces iTunes bootleg contest

Pearl Jam has announced a contest to find the favorite versions of each of a dozen or so tunes that they have posted to iTunes after each concert on their current tour.

Pearl Jam has taken the novel approach of posting an "album" after each concert so that attendees (or anyone else) can buy exactly the music they heard. Unfortunately, there are no album discounts, so expect to pay about $30 for a full concert. However, you can buy songs by the tune, so there's no need to limit yourself.

The contest encourages listeners to vote on their favorite versions from a pool of three (one each from the US, Australian, and Japanese tours). As an added bonus, you get a chance to win a CD and a bag from the band if you enter the contest.

Also, there is a QuickTime version of their single Alive recorded on their Australian tour.
