iTunes at 50M, but probably not hitting 100 by April 30

Apple released a press release last week indicating that they have sold 50 million songs through their iTunes music service. However, BBC News is reporting that Apple CEO Steve Jobs believes they will only sell between 70 and 75 million songs by April 30.

Of course, the run rate of 2.5 million songs per week is pretty astounding when you consider that competitors like the revived Napster are selling 5-6 million dollars worth of music per quarter, about the same amount that Apple sells in 2 weeks.
