Apple's PowerSchool gets update to 3.5

Apple Computer's PowerSchool software package has been updated to version 3.5 in time for administrators to consider it for the Fall 2003 school year.

The product (acquired by Apple a couple of years back) provides online administration facilities for school districts with up to 10,000 students. The software features include scheduling, online access for parents and other administrative tasks.

Apple's "enterprise software" credibility was questioned last year when they announced job cuts in the PowerSchool program and there were serious questions as to the long-term viability of the package.

Some of these now seem misplaced, but only time (and some more reviews) will tell.
