Wired has a cute piece about the words that have emerged surrounding the iPod and it's use. And, although I've never heard of it being called the iPizzle, the article is pretty funny.

Just for fun, here's the article that I wrote on March 6th 2003 that spawned the idea for my recently issued patent. I still think it's a frightening idea, but at least now I might have some control over whether it happens.

Mr. Gore has a point. Carol and I have been putting off going to see An Inconvenient Truth for the last few weeks out of concern over boredom, propaganda, and general bad moviemaking. The reviews of this movie by others (which many of you may know I don't usually read) have been all over the map. Although I may find fault with some of the presentation of the data, many of Mr. Gore's suggestions of what should be done are hard to complain about.

The following is the text of a letter that I wrote in response to an article in the Washington Post this morning. The article asserted that pro-net neutrality groups' call to "keep the Internet where it belongs -- in the hands of its consumers" is "empty fluff that is obviously designed to incite rather to inform." I disagree, and here's my primer on net neutrality to tell you why.

According to an article from this morning's Washington Post, the Hubble Space Telescope, producer of many of the best space images the world has seen, is now limping along without the use of its Advanced Camera for Surveys.

It's been a while since I could say this about a film, but run—do not walk—to Wordplay, the new documentary about the annual crossword puzzle tournament.

I realize that now even CNet has gotten into the act with publicizing the defection of one long-time Macintosh user (Mark Pilgrim) and another who is making noise about possibly switching (Tim Bray of Sun). So, it's time to make some more noise about what's really happening.

From Space.com, and JHU's Applied Physics Lab, Pluto's moons (heretofore referred to as S/2005 P 1 and S/2005 P 2) have now been christened Hydra and Nix. The press release (from APL, not from the moons, which could not be reached for comment) details the mission that found the moons last year.

I haven't seen it yet (we're working on that), but there is an interesting article that I've been meaning to post about since early this month in the Christian Science Monitor about Al's movie, An Inconvenient Truth and other films that provide a documentary format, but a single point of view. Note: this isn't the review, they also had one of those by their movie reviewer, and it's much more agreeable.
